The Advent family lost one of the church’s founding members on Friday with the passing of our dear friend Ken Selmer. Whether washing stacks of dishes at the community dinners, mowing the lawn, or setting up tables and tents before outdoor festivals, Ken was on hand for every church event — with a smile or joke for all. And especially for the kids… If you couldn’t find Ken during fellowship hour after church on Sundays, he was usually outside playing with them and his faithful lab Shadow. He will be sorely missed.

Calling hours are Wednesday 15 October from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Cournoyer Funeral Home in Jaffrey. The funeral service is Thursday 16 October at 11:30 a.m. Following the burial at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in nearby Winchendon, Mass., a reception will be held at Advent. In lieu of flowers, his family has asked that donations be made to Advent Lutheran Church in his memory.

  1. Ken has long been a favorite friend of mine. He was always the one you could count on. He will be so missed by me and Advents congregation. I have such a beautiful picture of him and where he is now. He had no fear of dying because he wanted to be with Colleen and Jesus. May he rest in peace.
