Advent is hosting a multi-family yard sale on Saturday, July 16 from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Spaces are available for Advent members and non-members alike for just $15. All proceeds go to the church’s general operating fund. Call the church office or e-mail the church Communications Coordinator via the online form here to reserve a space.
Kick off your summer with the Advent May Fair and Book Sale on May 31! To be held from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the event combines the best of the church’s Really Big Yard Sale of years past with popular activities from Advent’s 2013 festivals. Here’s a run-down of what you can buy, do, and eat at the May Fair:
Book Sale: Great bargains on books and movies, and maybe some records (yes, LPs). We have everything from 25-cent beach reads to a display of signed editions! Sci-fi fans might be interested in new VHS tapes of the original Star Trek series and even some scripts. We’ve also received several boxes of very gently used children’s books. Lots of mysteries, too. Most hardcover titles will be priced at $1.00. Bring your empty book bags and come early for the best selection. Join us for some great bargains and homemade food at our Really Big Yard Sale & Silent Auction on Saturday 1 June! Held from 8:00-2:00, the huge indoor/outdoor event includes numerous yard sale tables and a children’s room, in addition to vendors such as the Advent Jewelry Ladies.
This year’s silent auction of new, gently used, and collectible items features a tile-top dining set and other furniture, a porcelain doll, Holiday Creations’ retired collectible Carousel (which retails for more than $150), complete dishware and fine china sets, high-end baby items, computer equipment, and much more.
Advent’s popular bake sale includes home-baked goodies to munch on while you shop. The loaves of nisu always sell out, so come early!
New this year at the Chuck Wagon are gourmet burgers with your choice of special toppings: New Mexico green chile, homemade guacamole, or sautéed mushrooms!
