A charter member of Advent’s congregation, Sherry Bartlett of Spring Hill, Florida passed away on Saturday 18 May 2013 after losing a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family, including her husband Jim, with whom she would have celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary this August.
She also leaves three children (Nathan and his partner James of Plante City, Florida; Jessica and her husband Kenneth Patria of Temple; and Heather and her husband Zack Woolford of Jaffrey) and two grandchildren, Ayden Woolford and Connor Patria. She is also survived by her brother Alan Cackett, sisters Deborah Acerbi and Lisa Vitelli, and many nieces and nephews.
Born Sherrell A. Cackett in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on 23 February 1961, she was the daughter of Reginald and Evelyn (St. Arnaud) Cackett. Sherry worked as a paraprofessional at the Rindge Memorial School for many years before she and Jim moved to Spring Hill. An avid reader, she enjoyed keeping up with her kids, grandkids, and friends on social media, sunsets at the beach, and walks with her dog Lucy.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday 15 June at 2:00 p.m. at Advent, followed by a reception in the Fellowship Hall. All are invited to this celebration of her life. As Sherry would say, “Check doom and gloom at the door – bring chocolate!”
